they cost just a little more than $500 but they are probably the best off the shelf irons i have ever hit. easy to hit, good feel, hits the ball like a blade with the forgivenss of a cavity back.

the mizuno mp60's.

if you are in the market for a driver...get a taylormade r5. the r7 is not really worth the money AND i have seen r5's at COSTCO!!!

depending on your ability of play i would choose probably callaway irons. a used set has no serial #s and irons can be changed at with no diff, if something happens to one. there are other great irons out there such as ping and mizuno you can find used under 500 but they may be harder to hit. the biggest thing is enjoying the game with out getting mad over a missed shot.

Ping or King Cobra are both good at least to me. Having the clubs fitted to the person is probably alot more critical than the brand

It all depends on your handicap and playing ability. Generally ping and cobra are good options, but you'd pick up a good set of second-hand callaways x16 or x18, they are a quality irons.
