You should watch 500 Days of Summer. I'm in the same position as you right now and this movie helped some with the depression. But love is a fantasy. The feeling caused by it has to with a chemical reaction in your body, along with certain character traits. When someone respects you, you return the respect and like them as a human. But then you begin to put certain people into different categories and that's when things to wrong. That distinct connection we see as love can only be achieved after many years of struggle and experience with your significant other. Now, I'm not saying there isn't someone out there for you or that you should stop dating. Dating is one of the few ways to interact with humans so do it often. The happiness and sorrow resulting from it should help you in life, not put you down.

So you're basically talking about very short waterskis? I've never seen anything like that. Maybe you should invent them and make money!
