Our church auditors have made a report that the church accounts are not being run properly. This leaves a sour taste in my mouth as I expect the accounts to be of utmost standard and excellence. Should I continue to tithe when clearly there is a problem with the way the money is being accounted for?

Only you and your conscience can answer this one my friend - personally I would tithe in another way, give it to charity or something similar.

God bless.

Who have you been giving tithes to ? Now is a good time to lead in love and patience. A lot of times something like this is said in hast and a whole church falls to the ground. You won't solve this problem by withholding what belongs to God and I am not just talking about the money. This is the time for you to give of yourself. To find a kind solution that will keep your church running without offense, lest that which is weak among you be turned away and lost to the world. There is a solution here that will draw you all together and it might mean that you will have to forgive someone. But God will bless you and your congregation if you will allow the Holy Ghost to lead you in this.

We are commanded to tithe, so I would continue tithing because you are obeying God since I am guessing that you are a member of that church. God will handle and deal with the church in His way and will. If this continues, I would look for a church that is serious about handling God's money properly.

Get a new treasurer and full report about where the missing money is.
Place current or new tithe in a separate account and don't let the people who were responsible before anywhere near it.

as long as your heart desires to give tithe so be it....it doesnt matter if the auditors doing something its their problem not yours...you give tithe for the lord as a way of following what is written in the bible and as a good christian..thats it,let god do something about the auditors...

If you feel a big ol need to give...it does not have to be to your church. You can give to the local shelter, or the Food Bank....I would steer clear of giving money where the auditor is having trouble reconsiling the dough. Yae for the church and all, but it is not starving, or needing a light bill paid, or help with the heating so the kids don't freeze. Give to your local Non Profit Agencies!

do what your heart leads you to do, the Lord loves a cheerful giver.

The question is, how is your church handling this problem? Are they taking steps to fix it? Are they investigating what/who the problem is? If so, don't lose heart.

Perhaps for now you might find some good ministries that you are SURE will do good with the money(in a way that is glorifying to God) and you might give some of it to them.

Pray about it. Read Malachi 3

Tithing is for God. He will deal with the thieves in his way. Is this your church? If so then speak up at church. (You can't give a straving crack addict cash for food, because they'll spend it on crack.) You have the power to do something about this if it directly effects your church. Being a Christian doesn't make you a sucker.

Of course, tithing to the storehouse (church) is comanded in the bible, so awsome though that God then says to test him in tithing and giving offerings too see if God wont bless you.
Bungywow is right. You need to tithe to a church, not a non profit charity. thats not tithing thats just giving to charitys. Thithes and offerings are diffrient. IF you feel that you need to go to another church then go to one that is bible beliving and alive (constently growing) if not, then do something to make it grow or find one that is.

By their fruit you will know them. Their fruit is apparently theft. Do you want to support theives who steal under the guise of Christianity? This should be a no brainer. But then many people keep supporting all manner of unrepentant sinners who sin behind the safety of the church. This makes the supporters share in the guilt. It is a big big mistake. If they are unrepentant don't even wish them well.
