I was wondering if you've ever witnessed seeing a "cabbit" it's half rabbit and half cat. My friends mother had one and was on a local tv show/
I saw one again yrs. and yrs. later late one day when I came home/it was all cat, except the hind legs were rabbit and it hopped and had a rabbit tail......very strange, freak of nature but a cute animal

Yes, I saw the cabbit in 1988/sept.
and my friend's mother HAD ONE down south and she WAS on a LOCAL Television show w/it. THat took place in 1983. To the person way below, why the h*ll would I lie about such a thing. I'm being honest here, this is why I ask the public if ANYone has seen one?! i know it's rare because it's a COMPLETE freak of nature, but hey!!--nothing new is under the sun....weird things can happen, OBVIOUSLY

There is no such thing as a cabbit. That is a manx cat.
Quote: "Cabbit
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The cat-rabbit myth was first documented by Joseph Train of Castle Douglas, Galloway in "An Historical and Statistical Account of the Isle of Man" (1845). Train stated that cabbits were the product of matings between female cats and buck rabbits. The portmanteau term cabbit is used for alleged hybrids. The exact year of coinage is uncertain. It was used in 1977 to describe a specimen found in New Mexico and exhibited in Los Angeles.
The Manx is a breed of cat with a naturally occurring mutation of the spine. This mutation shortens the tail, resulting in a range of tail lengths from normal to tailless. Many Manx have a small 'stub' of a tail, but Manx cats are best known as being entirely tailless and it is the distinguishing characteristic of the breed.
Manx cats look more like a rabbit because they have little or no tail, and because their back legs are longer than their front. Manx go from full tail to no tail, and various lengths in between. The less tail, the more rabbit-like they look.

I like cats, more so than dogs anyway. Cats don't cower and never give themselves up with guilty looks. And at least they know enough to clean themselves.
However, I'm pretty sure cabbits only exist in Japanese cartoons. Cats and rabbits cannot mate, but I think the Manx Cat is called a cabbit sometimes. Perhaps it was a deformed cat or rabbit that came out looking cabbitish(?)

Yes, cats are extremely adorable! I have such a soft spot for them. It's too bad that humans aren't as cute.
I've never seen a real-life cabbit. The first time I ever heard that term was when I was watching a anime show.

Cats are adorable, I like their distinct personalities. I do not believe your story about the cabbit and I did a quick search that straightened me out. A good laugh though.

Joy it is IMPOSSIBLE!! for Cats and Rabbits to bread they don't even have the same number of chromosones. You have never seen a "Cabbit" nor did your friends mother have one, she was never on TV. You are living in complete fantasyland. Look below for the truth about the myth you seem to want to spread as fact.

No, havn't seen it, but really would love too...I love all my cats, they all have such different personalities....one, that I have has wild cat in him.....he's 40lbs, beautiful...can't hear, or meow..but, sure has the teeth....the vet said, they arn't normal cat teeth..but, he saved my life, and I saved his...so...he's my love...and knows it, and noone messes with him, because he will bite, but, it's strange...he has always welcomed new cats and dogs into the family with open arms...just doesn't want anyone but the family to pet him...but, he'll always be my hero for saving me..and me him, when he was just days old.

my cat can be adorable sometimes and there are times I just want to strangle it. a few nights ago while I was sleeping at night, he scratched my foot so hard it woke me up. but in the morning, he was laying right next to me purring, can't stay mad too long at my cat
