I have a paper due, over what I believe about Soteriology, or the study of salvation. The questions are drawn from a catechism. There are 24 total questions within this paper that I will answer. On executive decision, I chose to post each of these on Answers! but.... I am going to do them about once each day. They will be titled "Soteriology - Q # ______ . " I am going to poast them, one each day, because I am hoping to get as many different people to answer these questions as possible. If you would like to answer all 24, search them through my name, and answer as many as you would like to. PLEASE back up your answers with Scriptural references, theologian quotes, your opinions, etc. I want you to be as creative as possible, and I want as many people to participate as possible. Thank you for your participation! I do not want you to do my research. I want more opinions than just people I can find on my own. In a sense, think of it more as an interview.

Christ fulfills the triple office of Priest, Prophet, and King. Priest in His saving Sacrifice of Himself to reconcile God and Man. Prophet in his revelation of God to Man and in speaking on behalf of the Father. King in that He rules the Kingdom of Heaven and the People of God.

Even though Jesus is God, it does not nullify the prophetic nature of his life on earth. A prophet in the Old Testament is one who revealed God and spoke on His behalf. Christ perfects the office of Prophet by fulfilling the Old Testament and revealing God to Man completely. He is able to say in all truth that He speaks on behalf of the Father because God is a Trinity of Persons - Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are not merely different titles; they are distinct in their relation to each other, but they share the same Nature. There are three Persons in one God, which is a great mystery because it is beyond our experience.

I wouldn't believe (if I were a christian) that Christ could execute the office of a prophet. A prophet is one who speaks for God. Christ was (according to Christianity) God. The execution of the office of prophet in this case would be "God speaking for God".

One could argue that the admonitions and statements, callling for trust in God, and belief in the nature of Christ were prophetic. The call to repentance and faith, and the like. These are in a sense prophetic "words", but not spoken by an intermediary for God.
