For now im living with my dad whos almost 60 n isnt in very gd health but still able to walk abt n all .
My question is , when and if im working overseas how should i go about "looking" after him ? should i hired a maid ? place him in a old folk home ( for the time being ) ? i dont want to hurt his feelings or anything .. i love him very much . Ive talk to him about this , but he simply refuse to acknowledge the situation n say he'll follow me to whichever country im working in even if its for short period of time. So pls help n advice !Thank you !

He doesn't seem to need real help, so not a nursing home! I think just a maid/companion person would do-someone you could check with to be sure everything is OK.

No, don't put him in a nursing home! See if you can't get him involved in a senior center where they serve lunches and play games. You can call home health and they will send someone out to help him. Or, let him go with you and help him find his own place. Make sure he knows that he is still a part of your life, no matter where he lives, and that you will always be his little girl. He needs to know that you aren't going to forget him and that he can always call you. You could also try an assisted living home where he would meet others, but those can be quite expensive. He's going to miss you, more than you will know for a long time. You were his little girl and now you are grown and leaving home.

It doesn't sound like he needs a nursing home. Obviously, with his poor health, it wouldn't be advisable to take him overseas with you. Check with your local social service agencies who provide services for the aged to see if there are social service agencies that can come in and monitor his health and help him with his daily living routine. I don't know where you live, but many larger municipalities have non-profit organizations that are designed to assist older people and help them stay independent.
