From birth I've never really questioned that there was some sort of Higher Power, though I never really started looking at Christianity until I was about twelve. Even then, I did not put much faith in it until 17 years old, then my first girlfriend died that year and I got very angry at God and at a religious camp, in a field all by myself, I was swearing at an image of Jesus on the cross and cursing God.

Then I just realized how I was insulting God and if I was speaking to him on my own, obviously I knew inside me that God was real or else I wouldn't bother cursing him... Then I realized in that field that the God I was cursing should have struck me down with lightning and I remembered that the worst sin is calling something from the Holy Spirit evil. And I realized that I did not deserve Christ to die for me, I truly deserved to go to hell, and then I saw that Christ was still up there on the cross and that he wants us all to be sanctified and redeemed.

I realized that Jesus dying for us is like the President saving the life of a corrupt Secret Service agent. What right would the corrupt agent have to curse the more important figure who took the punishment he deserved? So the only thing I could do is honor what Christ did and accept it.

I believed in the Creator since I was 3 yrs old. I knew there was a God. When I was a teen, I prayed to God to show Me who He was, and also to show me the purpose for my life. Several years later, when I was around twenty four years old I had a personal encounter with Jesus that changed my life. Although I had a Catholic upbringing my family were only at church on major holidays. Church had never been an important aspect of our lives. But after I was born-again I called the priest and was told that what was happening to me was just a fad, and that it would pass. So I asked God to put me into a church just like the one in the book of Acts in the bible and He did!. He put me in the Foursquare Church, which is a Pentecostal church. Right now I'm not going to a church, not because I don't want to but because I just can't find one near by enough that teaches what I believe and learned. Having Jesus is a relationship not a religion.
I like to go to church because I love to worship God in the fellowship of other believers, and I think we all need support from one another. I just haven't found that in my area and am not able to drive far these days to a church in another area.

Actually, I picked my religion out of a very serious need in my life.. really for a need of a family member. My family needed a miracle.. so out of desperation trying to find something.. we went to a church that taught the word of God which I had never picked up a bible...but it gave me more then what I went in for. This happened in 1976.. the thing of it was that it was a family need as I said.. and so my whole family was in the same situation as I was.. well in a family circle of 37 people at the time.. within three days we all became Christians.. and still so today.. Our family has grown to 51 and we are all still Christians... and growing stronger every day. The person in my family of whom we where all in need of a miracle.. was my uncle whom at the time wanted a sex change.
Today he is now 63 years old... a strong believer in Jesus. It took him 7 years to turn his life around from 1976 to 1983.. but he did it. He will tell you that he has given up the idea of having a relationship because he will not live the life of a homosexual.. and to prove it ... he moved in with my grandmother for 13 years to be accountable to someone during his growth. Now he lives a quiet life.. but he says while he thought he would be lonely.. he has never felt lonely with Jesus in his life and a supportive family.

This is our miracle!

My religion was a hand me down. My family has always been taught from the bible. I guess I've believed in my faith since I was old enough to understand the teachings. As for the change - It made me realize that my life has a purpose.

With so many religions in the world, I could not know which one was right without knowing the bible, that was 44 years ago, I do believe the bible.

So why get mixed up with any one of the 1000's of religions. Something is wrong.

I was born into the religion, though my family was never very spiritual. I chose to be agnostic when I was old enough to question such things.

On a side note my name is Christian, I tell people I'm an agnostic Christian sometimes to see what kind of response I get. Sometimes it's funny sometimes people launch in long-winded sermons...

i live in a christain nation. we have many denominations, some who even oppose the god that most of us worship. but that is okay because we have freedom of religion here and as long as you dont infringe on someone elses right to life, liberty and the persuit of happiness then its all good.

As a christian i spent many years checking out many denominations and none of them really rang true for me. during this time it was hard for me to study the bible that they all pretty much used as a cornerstone or stumbling block.

Finally, after having a heart attack at 48 i found a t.v. preacher who was teaching the bible chapter by chapter and verse by verse. After a couple months of listening and checking him out with available resources the bible seemed to read more and more easily for me. whenever i ran into something that did not quite make sense i checked out a concordance and the asked the author for assistance in understanding.

each time i read the separate books something else will come out that i saw only on one level the last time i read it.

i wish i were perfect, but everytime i read the bible i find more than one occasion where it instructs me on improvements i need to make in my life. i am somewhat comforted by the fact there was only one perfect person in the bible, and all the others had this or that which god did not smile upon at all times.

i have always believed in god even before i knew what his name was or what he stood for.

yes my current pastor has changed my life, in that it has made me more mellow knowing that god is in ultimate control although the devil does have a huge presence on this earth age.

I didn't decide to be a christian, I was infected. Like a virus. Now that I think about it I don't want to be a christian anymore. Have to run. Got some atheists in the oven that I have to go take out.

If God loved us so much that he had a book written to help us cope with our problems and to teach us how to serve him, then I needed to hear what he had to say.
I went to the Mormon Church when I was only 6. My mom would drop me off and I would have to sit outside by myself for hours waiting for her to pick me up.
Times were different then.
She left the Church when I was 12. I question their beliefs when I was 10 and 11, then I left when she did.
I went to many other churches, talked to those who sincerely practiced what their church taught and found too many common treads.
When I ask Reverends, Priest, Pastors, Bishops, etc questions I had, they all asked me in I was talking to Jehovah’s Witnesses. I asked who are they?
So when I turned 18, I found out who Jehovah’s Witnesses are, started to study, was baptized 28 years ago and it is still the best decision I have ever made!
