im a young and horny man that enjoys looking at naked girls. yeah so! so my question is why do some strict feminists and strict male conservatives take it way too far to say that it is demeaning to women. Hello! they arent representing anybody but themselves! its like saying that male construction workers represent all men or some other weird overgeneralization. i just think conservative people need to stop making statements that are unjustified. porn is good. its where you learn your all your positions. i know even know women who watch it, too. and it keeps you out of trouble!!

Hey - The main problem w/ doing any thing is when its in Public. If U r alone or w/ others who r into it there's no problem. There r rules of decency & such tends 2 create objectified-feeling women. They feel being viewed as sex objects & lower value as peeple. That is my take on what's wrong w/ porn. It has its use & place.

Seriously people are stupid, for example, when those kids shot up columbine, the parents tried to sue ID software the makers of DOOM because apparently DOOM teaches kids to murder innocent people. I did nothing BUT play DOOM when I was a kid and I never killed anyone, and I've been watching porn for years and nothing bad happened and I didn't lose respect for women because of it.

The way I see it is that porn can save lifes, think of how many depressed people there are in the world, some of us don't have a girl/boyfriend and some never will, at least at the very least it gives them something to live for.

Porn saved my life, without it I would be dead.

I could care less if you like porn or not....that is your business.....but do not put feminist in with conservatives. You will find all your feminist are liberals...they are the mother earth lovers. I'm a conservative and not a feminist, I am not against porn, but I am against that kiddie stuff....anyone who likes that need to be put to death.

you should have learned by now that women cry about everything and think everything is demeaning to them, just ignore them.

Whatever you do in your own home is your own business!!!

Unless its illegal

But if your doing drugs and **** like that I don't care. As long as your not hurting anyone else, they should mind their own business!!

Was this a rant or a genuine curiosity of yours? If you're just ranting fair enough, enjoy. I get why so many people are defensive of this subject. Its personal People don't like being told what to do or what not to do. But if it's just a rant don't bother reading on because you're not going to even take any of what I say on board and it's only going to annoy you.

However, if you're actually curious as to why some people have any sort of problem with porn then read what I have to say, accept it as my opinion and take from it what you will. Don't try to belittle it or argue it down. I've thought this through a lot and unless you bring fresh information to light I'm not going to change my mind.

First off, I think porn is hot. Watching it is a huge turn on and it's totally natural and normal for it to be a turn on cos its other human beings having sex and fooling around. I don't think sex is dirty. I don't think sleeping around even has to be dirty so long as everyone's honest with each other about what's going on. I don't think masturbation's wrong, I think its fun. I have watched and gotten off to porn.

So hopefully you can see that I'm not a psycho feminist and I'm not a conservative. What I don't like is the porn industry. I started feeling uncomfortable about it when I was about 13. I was watching some documentary/interview type thing about Jenna Jameson and okay she's just one example but that chick is seriously messed up. She's been through horrific abuse (not through her work but when she was younger) and really when someone goes through that kind of thing the healthiest thing to do is learn to set boundaries for yourself and do everything you can to get you're head around the fact that you deserve better than that and your body is precious and no one has the right to take it or touch it without your explicit permission. Just from the way she talked about sex it was clear she's not over that.

Most of the more ongoingly promiscuous women I know (I say ongoingly cos I think a lot of women who are totally fine with themselves and their body and their minds go through different phases in their life) have really low self esteem and they remind me of the way Jenna talked in her interview sometimes. They think that turning guys on is power. It's their way of feeling in control but they aren't. I read an article on girls gone wild. The women don't even get paid. The whole argument that "oh it's great money, sure why wouldn't they want that" sort of loses its relevance with that. They just go to a bar get a bunch of ridiculously drunk women and talk them into ******* around. I saw a clip from one of them where there were these two girls who were really drunk. They'd only just turned 18 IF they were of age. One of them was majorly acting up for the camera. The other one just kept on laughing. She didn't take her top off til the camera guy had kept telling her to (in a very creepy manipulative manner... that was the last time I watched porn cos that just creeped me out so much). I know girls gone wild are only one group but I just haven't heard much good that I actually felt the person saying it didn't have an agenda.

There should be psychological evaluations before anyone is allowed work in porn. Too many severely screwed up people are working in it and either hurting themselves or (like Joe Francis) hurting many many others. I guess I just don't want to watch porn that I don't think the people in it enjoyed making and are glad they made are glad people are watching it (that's my problem with amateur... you don't know that both parties consented to its existence). Also with any porn once it's out there that's it. You can't make people unseen what they've seen. It's so hard to get back into a headspace where your body feels like it belongs to you again.

So I guess most of my rambling's been about why I've come to my won conclusions about porn. I won't get eggs if I'm not sure they're from happy healthy free range hens so why the hell would I be comfortable enough being as selfish and heartless as to watch porn that I really don't trust the source. And if I buy porn I'm just giving them reason to do it all again. I don't want that to feel guilty about. I wouldn't like me very much. The thing that upsets me as that the people who consume and buy porn claim that it isn't their fault if this is happening. The few small time porn companies who make an attempt at making ethical porn get so little business that they never last because most people don't want to take on board the fact the basic laws of cause and effect. If you buy they will never ever change their policies. They won't look into the mental state of their actors and actresses. There will still be a lot of manipulation and abuse. Until they have a significant drop in profits they aren't going to take another look at how they do things and see what needs to change. If you steal copyrighted porn I actually have less of an issue with it :p

The other problem which I feel is a much smaller one but still a problem in itself is the way that sex is portrayed in a lot of porn. It's mechanical and out of touch. Underage kids watching porn (and if anyone reading this thinks teenagers don't find ways to watch porn you're ridiculously naive) pick up screwed up ideas of what sex should be and about their bodies and about people act when they're alone being sexual together. They get weird ideas about what female orgasms are like and what sort of stimulation can actually cause one. They start to think we're all just dying for some anal. I mean they're kids. There sources are the internet, television, peers and possibly (but not often) their parents. The phrases that are all around porn sites are pretty screwed up too. They describe whatever's going on in the nastiest way possible. They use racial slurs and derogatory terms. A mature adult (or even the more mature teenagers) will overlook this and know that porn has NOTHING to do with what real sex is actually like but if it's all they're used to it's more than a bit messed up and creepy.

If there was porn that was an accurate portrayal of good hot sex that didn't really seem to make the whole thing seem so much sleazier than it has to be then I would be all for it but as it stands there's too much crap going on with porn. It's a messed up industry and too much bad stuff seems to happen in and because of it. Sorry for making it so long but hey if you actually wanted to know or if anyone reading for that matter did then it could make for some interesting reading
