i would define basic consciousness as the awareness of what you are doing, and why you are doing it. i.e. understanding self and your motivations, not just acting solely on instinct and with no comprehension of why.

Umm what kind of entity? I am pretty sure other things are conscious but not "our" consciousness of consciousness and different levels like that. I define consciousness by being aware of it.(Though not excluding other living beings meaning on the can communicate with us sector) On the level playing field that of which we are on. Also from computers its all programmed from a human conscious and has a bias with that creator.

God is the spirit (my dictionary defines that because the immaterial sensible or sentient area of someone) that, because He created time, has no starting up or end yet exists in a measurement previous time, able to work out the finished time line (if certainly that is a line) immediately. He (and the Bible makes sparkling that He exhibits himself contained in the masculine type, even if he has a gender or transcends gender) is the only responsible for all of creation, having created each and every thing with the help of his note, that's the second one man or woman (mode of being, as defined by technique of my dictionary) of the Godhead. "each and every thing" contains the heavens and the earth and all issues actual as well because the moral regulation by technique of which our hearts are ruled and all issues religious (issues which contain love which exist except for the actual international). i am going to ought to go away some thing else of the definition as a lot as some different person because i want to be someplace in ten minutes. thanks for the problematical and thrilling question. i'm hoping I exceeded the attempt. you chosen out demanding regulations; describing some thing without metaphors is very almost like ruling out language itself! there are this variety of tremendous number of hidden metaphors in our language.

J.P. Moreland explains this very topic in pages 247-273 in Case for a Creator. If you want me to type out 26 pages of text, it might take awhile.

Peace!
Consciousness of what? Ourselves? Our surroundings?
Where does consciousness come from? Who gave it to us? There's no way you can discuss consciousness without asking that question. Sorry.
