Did you ever noticed that you dont read in your dreams?

Normally, if I read something in a dream, when I wake up, I remember reading, but never remember the words. However, on occasion I have been able to read in my dreams and remember the words. When that happens, I pay very close attention to the words I remember.....they have importance. That's how I see it.

Usually I don't, but if I was reading a book before I fell asleep, the story line will continue in my head and I'll see text instead of an actual scene. Occasionally I won't realize I've fallen asleep until I realize that what I'm "reading" doesn't follow the actual behavior of the character or the actual storyline or the style of the author's writing at all. I know a few of my friends who that's happened to as well. But my friends and I are generally more the exception than the rule.

I can and fairly often do read in my dreams, although it usually consists of reading just a few words. Sometimes while dreaming I'll get a call on my phone and I'll read a clearly defined name on the caller ID that I can sometimes recall in the morning when I wake, but it has always been a name I've never heard before. I've also seen words written on walls and various other objects while dreaming that I can sometimes remember in the morning. I also recall trying to read more complex sentences such as in books & magazines in my dreams, but the words seem to become garbled and indecipherable quickly after reading just a few words...

Actually I have nightmares of being back in school, so I do dream about reading - only because it is a nightmare I cannot do it very well and I end up flunking out if school.
And I have been a successful software engineer for decades

When I dream about books and signs and am reading those in the dreams. I also dream in vivid color as well, so maybe it's just an individual thing.

I have. But it was really depressing.. I read my tombstone cos i died in it.
