i tried cleaning both the tv and the remote, and i dont think theres nothing wrong with the remote, bcuz it works on other tvs but my Sylvania one...it worked before...

IR remotes are sensitive to fluorescent light (and very bright light in general) so take that into consideration.
Try fresh batteries (even try to take out the batteries and put them back)
Try to re-enter the code for the TV
Make sure you enter the code in "TV" mode and not something else.
Make sure you point to the TV's IR sensor

You might have losed the code for it, also make sure you press the tv button at the top of the remote, maybe somehow it got pressed into another mode, like a vcr. Here is a list of codes, in case you have to reprogram it..good luck..>>
