I went to Ft. Leonard Wood in '97. We had a gang latrine, meaning open showers, but there were 2 individual stalls in the back that half the platoon tried to line up for. It takes way too long to wait for those and many standing in line never even got to shower cuz you only get 10 mins to get ~100 people in and out of the showers. It was kinda funny, cuz all these self concious and gay concious fools were closely lined up d!ck to *** waiting for a private shower...lol. Kinda defeats the purpose.
Most of the toilet stalls had no doors either, the ones that did, were broken. Don't worry, though. After two weeks, you won't even care if the guy next to you is staring at your twig and berries cuz you'll be too tired and hurried to wonder if he's thinking about you at night. You'll start being all that you can be and have enough self confidence to deal with a public shower.

Everybody in the platoon or flight or whatever shower all at the same time. In the Air Force, there was an open room with 12 shower heads in it. We moved from one shower head to the next in kind of an assembly line. We had 10 seconds at each shower head, so you showered in 2 minutes. So, 50 guys all got showered in 8 minutes.
As far as toilets go, there were stalls (with doors and everything).

The toilets are generally private now. But the showers in Basic are still usually open bay type. 6-12 shower heads and "don't drop the soap jokes" the whole time. We used to share newspapers on the toilets.

The toilets have doors. But the shower no. I'm a girl and I showered with 8 girls every night. The guys had 8 shower heads and had 40 guys who showed in the 10 mins we got. There is not such thing as privacy.

The showers were one big shower room with multiple nozzles on the walls. The toilets where individual stalls with no doors. The urinals were the long trough-type urinals.

You will have private toilets and public group showers.
Don't worry, you will be so pressed for time when taking a shower, you will not have time to be self conscious.

When I was in boot camp, there was NO privacy! All the showers are in one room. All the commodes/urinals/sinks are in one room.Permanent stations vary in their antiquity.
