It's an instinct from when the kitten kneeded his mother's breast to increase milk flow while nursing. Many cats continue to do it, to be close to their new "Mother", it means they love you!

Hi, there are so many theories as to why they do it. Lately I've been hearing that they do it to relieve stress. Especially if you're purring while kneading. My older girl cat does it all the time, especially on my tummy. The boy cat, though, does it only when he's eating (and kneading the floor!!).

Kittens do it when they are nursing from their mother and if your kitty was taken from it's mom too soon it may continue to knead as a sort of comfort.

In my journey, it fairly is not purely woman cats that knead yet male cats additionally. Our male cat is plenty worse than our woman cat and that i'm valuable he does this as a protection ingredient. additionally while our male cat does this he's claiming us as his very own. while he has finished kneading, he cuddles me and is going to sleep.

I am a complete cat fanatic.
This is a habit that comes from when they were a kitten. A kitten must kneed to get milk from mother.

my cat has done this several times, especially when he was a kitten. Cat's do this more often when they are taken from their mothers before they should be(8 wks) kittens do this to their mothers when feeding to get milk. it is probably more of an affectionate action when it comes to your cat, because many cats, even those weaned they were supposed to do this.

Its a comfort thing. But mine does it when hes about to lay down on his favorite blanket. He probably does it just like a dog goes around and around in circles right before they lay down.

Your cats are putting their scent on you. Usually when kittens leave their mommy's too soon, they will Kneed like yours are doing. It is a high complicate that they are doing it too you. It is a pure sign on affection.
you may also see them rub their faces on you. Just like they rub up against furniture. They have more scent glands around their nose.
