Most upper respiratory infections are viral and there are no antivirals available for birds. Give this bird a great diet to improve its immune system. Great pellet diet, 10%seeds,10% fruits and veggies and hard cooked chopped egg with crumbled shell 3 times a week. Some vets will put the bird on a broad spectrum antibiotic to prevent a secondary bacterial infection. Avoid drafts. Allow 10-12 hours of darkness every day to avoid fatigue. All seed diets lead to malnutrition. The bird may have allergic reaction to something. Clean the room top to bottom. If the bird worsens in 12 hours, go see a great avian vet. Call ahead so you won't waste a trip. I hope your bird gets better really soon.

bad sign....he needs antibiotics. remember that these are tropical birds. I have two space heaters in my bird room to keep them warm. A bird who weighs only ounces cannot sustain sickness and needs immediate treatment. If he goes to the bottom of the cage, he will be near death.

Heat the room, make sure he is getting enough rest, birds need darkness and no sound for 10 hrs a day. Birds with a cold ususally lift one leg and sometimes shiver and close their eyes. If he is not eating, the vet can give you some electrolyte drops.

Don't worry about it. My parrot sneezes when he gets water into his nostrils (like when he's bathing or he's dunked his beak into the water to try and fish out a grape he's dopeed into his water bowl.

Sneezing is a common behaviour to all animals with noses and breathe air.

It should be gone in a while. If it persists and you see his nostrils congested with excretions, then it's time to visit the vet. If his nostrils are clean and he looks fine, you have nothing to worry about..

Good luck!

Bronchitis, pneumonia, coryza (Respiratory diseases)- Symptoms: SNEEZING, watery discharge from nostrils and eyes, depression.
Specific symptom of pneumonia: shortness of breath.
Specific symptom of bronchitis: wheezing.

Or perhaps your budgie has another illness.

PLEASE TAKE YOUR BUDGIE TO A VETERINARIAN OR EVEN BETTER AN AVIAN VETERINARIAN
