I know He paid for our sins. I just don't comprehend the whole sacrifice He made. Is there any other benefits of His sacrifice besides payment of sin?

You know, I am struggling to grasp the awesome-ness of this myself. But my pastor puts it like this during an alter call: Imagine if you were in court before a judge, and you were going to prison unless you could put up a 10 BILLION dollar bond. (Your charges don't matter in the scenario). This is an impossible task for you. But a stranger in the courtroom stands up and says, " I'll do it- I'll pay his fine".

You see, God sent Jesus to earth because He was trying to do his work through sinners. It wasn't working. God had this devine plan that He would have a son, and use his son to educate the world about Him. When Jesus was to be sacrificed, God could very well have said, ' Hey, this is my one and only son! I don't think so!' and saved Jesus. But He didn't. He gave up the life of His son to save US.

When Jesus rose from the grave (Easter), technically, it was not possible. It made people believe in the awesome-ness that is God. When you believe and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, then when you die, you get to spend eternity in Heaven.

So another benifit of being saved and accepting Jesus into your heart is eternal salvation.

I am not a scholar on the subject, just a 'baby' christian, so i hope this helps

God told Adam that if they ate of the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, he would die. That was the law. When he ate of it, he died. This death had 2 parts:

1. He was removed from the garden of eden where the tree of life was. As long as he and Eve ate from that tree, they would never die. Without it, their lives were shortened.

2. He become spiritually separated from God. This was spiritual death and the concequence is eternity in hell.

However, God had a solution. He sacrificed an animal and put the skin on Adam and Eve to cover their shame. That was the beginning of the sacrificial system. All though the Old Testament, those who followed God sacrificed animals with no blemish in atonement for their sins. The idea is that someone has to die. But the one who dies to pay the sin debt has to be sinless himself. The animal with no blemish was symbolic of another.

In reality, doing this was an act of faith in the sacrifice that would come, which was the sacrifice of Jesus. Anyone who sacrificed in the OT was actually getting their sin debt paid by Christ's death on the cross. Once Christ died, the need for a sacrifice stopped.

Whereas the people in the OT looked forward, we look backwards.

Benefits? The sacrifice paid our sin debt, made is so that we no longer had to go to hell. Also though, it freed us from the hold of sin on earth, and ended the separation from God.

initially, I have not in any respect considered a historic previous Channel religious application that wasn't heavily BIASED. And so, I hardly ever watch them any more effective. second, in spite of the undeniable fact that i will't position the source, I had heard that the Romans did not always use a pass with a capital 'T'; that typically an basic stake change into used. third, it does no longer look an significant difficulty. If it were shown previous a shadow of doubt that it change into one structure and not in any respect yet another, ok -- so what? I my humble opinion, in spite of the undeniable fact that, (and because all people else is giving their's...) it variety of feels more effective likely to were a stake, by using economics. The Romans weren't likely to have spent the time and artwork on making a pass-piece for an device for killing criminals. the better the more cheap, the more cheap the more effective powerful. .

By His stripes we are healed.

When the law is broken blood must be shed to satisfy justice.

In the history of Israel we were taught by the example of the shedding of animal blood but only the blood of an innocent human being could purchase us out of all sin. Christ is the Passover Lamb once and for all time. There are so many scriptures which tie into this theme. It is central to Christianity.

Familiarize yourself well with the entire bible and much will be clarified. Paul was a master of explaining Christianity in terms of it's fulfillment of Levitical blood ordinances. The more you study the more sense it makes. You will find "mercy triumphs over judgement" and understand God's love for us and His arrangement for satisfying His own law of justice and still extending mercy to whomsoever will love Him. It all balances out perfectly.

The evil who refuse to love God get what they deserve and those who do love God receive eternal life. Understand the three ages. There was a rebellion against God long ago, before the time of Adam and Eve.

Christ died for us so that we may have eternal life. "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."- John 3:16
Just think about that. That whole verse shows God's infinite love to us. Jesus came down from heaven became man and was born by the VIRGIN Mary. Jesus was fully God and fully Man so that he could live as an example to mankind on how to live a perfect and sinless life, and he had to be fully God to because God is infinite and since we sinned against an infinite God, the sacrifice had to be an infinite sacrifice. So Jesus was crucified on the cross for our sins. Then 3 days later rose from the dead, and totally fulfilled the sacrifice and ascended into heaven to intercede for us to God the father. Any questions? Did I explain something poorly? Please email me. I'll pray for u.

Before Christ, people had to offer blood sacrifices to get forgiveness for their sins. God sent His son, Jesus, to be an ultimate sacrifice for all of us. He was sinless, but He gave His life in a horrible way, and shed His blood to pay for our sins. All we have to is to accept Him as our Savior and ask for forgiveness to be forgiven. No more animal sacrifices. We live under grace now, and need only to accept Him.

So that we can enter into a relationship with God. Knowing and loving God is the highest expression of the soul. And that would not be possible without the sacrifice of Jesus.

its is a refernce to the OT act of sacrificing offerings to God to forgive sins. OT jews would sacrifice the best lambs to recieve forgiveness. Jesus was sent by God to be the ultimate Lamb for ultimate forgiveness. In this respect, the sacrificing of lambs was not needed anymore for the ultimate lamb was sacrificed and those who accepted that forgiveness will live in Heaven.

It's a glorified scapegoat mentality. The idea is that if someone does something wrong, whip the goat and it will be OK. That's how they used to think back in primitive days.

These days, sin is an outdated concept, like the scapegoat thing. Instead of following old books, think for yourself.
