At first God gave people a long life, many people mentioned in the Old Testament of the Bible lived 100's of years. But, people continued in their denial of God and He shorted our lives. Some people God will grant an extension. There was a King, I not remember I think it was Hezekiah and he was dying and ask God to extend his life. God granted his request and his life was down hill from there. He would have been better off dying when the time came the first time. I really not sure it was Hezekiah maybe someone can verify, but, I not going to look to know for sure.

This gets really deep, but I'll try to explain my opinion as briefly as possible. My husband & I were talking about his recently. He's an evangelist and this is, actually, his theory. Adam & Eve were made to be eternal...were supposed to heal automatically...immortal....until the eating of the tree. Right? Well, even in Biblical days, they lived much longer than us (look at Abraham). All men are appointed to death . The further we get from God's original plan, the further we get from that "eternal state" we were actually created in. Now our life span has become shorter. There was wickedness then, but not like now. So we are actually killing ourselves off. That is pretty brief in comparison to all that my husband said. Did I say it in a manner that makes sense at all?

Because in the Old Testament(Genesis)Some people lived to be
as old as 950 years old, and the majority of them where evil, and corrupt, and the Lord did not like that.
So here told Noah to build an Arc...etc...etc...etc...
...and after the flood, and the population was built back up, the average life expectancy, slowly shortened.
Having said that...If you live to be 75 years old(or whatever)Than based off history, you only have 75 years to do your part, to screw up the world.
Unless, of course, you spend the rest of your life walking with Him.

My personal belief - We are here to learn and grow. To prepare our minds and spirits for what comes afterward. The afterlife, whichever kind you believe in, lasts for eternity. So even if we were here for a thousand years, it would only be a minute in eternity. How much more can we grow if we are here for a thousand years, as opposed to 60 - 80?

AS IN ADAM ALL DIE EVEN SO IN CHRIST SHALL ALL BE MADE ALIVE
God had no choice if we as born to Adam and Eve are going to have any chance for life our self.
1Cor.15:22 For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. 23 But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming. 24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet. 26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him. 28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
1Cor.15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
THE HEAVENLY FOR THE NEW HEAVENS AND THE EARTHLY FOR THE NEW EARTH
2Pet.3:13; Rev.21:1-5 as promised. Isa.65:17; 66:1,22;

Everything which lives is born to die...
that is the way nature works, you live through the genes you pass on, if you are a successful breeder.
Everything dies, and as much as we love a good fairy tale, when you die, that's it, lights out, time to move over and give the rest a turn.

God created us according to his image but he gave us the right of selection. that's what makes us free contrary to angels. Actually i believe we choose to die. If you consider that in a minor blast of anger our body destroys 3 bi lion of cells which can not recover you can easily understand why we grow old fade and die. God doesn't kill us we kill our selves.

We all want to be immortal so no matter how many years were given to us, we would still have felt it is too short. But trust me, it is long enough for us to realise our dreams, provided we dream intensely and pursue the dream doggedly.
