Headaches from reading are usually related to overstrained muscles from trying to compensate for poor vision. You should have your eyesight checked.

I do! I do! I do! You hate to read! But you must know that already so here's what you should do if you know you lose interest really easily, then turn off and close out all the distractions of the world, then picture yourself as the main charater in the book put yourself in their shoes and see life as you see that they see it meaning, picture the setting, the noises in that setting, and the people and things in it too! Then it's not that you hate reading if you are easily distarcted, its that you can't find a book that holds you attention. SO next time you check out a book from the library, or buy one, just take a second and read the back of it and skim though the first page and if it doesn't catch your attenion, then put it back on the shelf and keep it moving. (You will know if it does or dosen't) Don't get a book that your not into. And the whole muscles in your head thightening up is from you looking at all the words and knowing that you are going to have to read them eventually and from you trying to stay focused on the word that your on, which flustrates you to a point of no end and you can't stand it so your head starts hurting. SO for starters you should get a piece of paper that you can't see straight though and cover up all the lines of the book that you havent read yet and only focus on that one sentence that your on or just uncover a paragraph and act like its a short story so you aren't feeling so obligated to finish this big ol' book, just alot of little ones! Which you know you can totally do! And don't worry the words aren't gonna bite you so just relax and enjoy a good book!

Well if you lose interest really easy that's simply because you haven't found the right book, or you just can't control the urge to do something more exciting to read. As for the muscles in your head, it must have something to do with the comprehension, or with the eyes if they are straining to read the words.
~Hope that helps somewhat

Sounds to me like you might need to get some reading glasses. That same thing happened to me, and once I had a pair of reading glasses and actually used them the headaches stopped. Try it and see, or go to optometrist for a check-up.

It probably isn't because you don't like to read. You probably need to get your eyes checked because it sounds like your getting head aches and tightnes becuase you straining you eyes to read the books or what ever your reading. Your probably losing interest because of the pain. I felt the same way, and when i finally got contacts I started to actually enjoy ready. I would suggest getting your eyes checked!

you may need glasses or, it sounds like me, I have ADD and I freak when I see a page full of words, I try to read it but start skipping over words, and to tell you about afterwards, HA forget that. See a doctor, they may be able to direct you to a solution. Best of luck.

as for the tightness in your head, I had that and all I needed was glasses!
as for getting bored fast. that's because there's a word or a few that you didn't understand and didn't realize you didn't understand or just didn't want to take the time to look it up.
that also happened to me so I now keep a dictionary close by when reading!

You might need reading glasses. Once that started happening to me, I went to the eye doctor and got my glasses. Now I can read for hours!
