1. Rebound relationships. Though not really a good idea, it is kind of like a poisonous epedural. It's to stop the pain, regardless of the consequences. You can see how often this happens as proof of its salving properties. Harumph.

2. Alcohol and drugs. After you get really drunk, you'll wake up the next morning, always a depressing, grey, and rainy one. You will feel even shittier and you'll still be obsessing about him. You'll think that the alcohol doesn't help. BUT if you keep doing that for several weeks and months, the alcohol will damage your memory, causing you to forget about him. It really works. I know from experience.

3. Take a small class. What is a language you want to learn, or some skill, that you want, but always put off? Go on the internet, or whatever, enroll, and just do it. The sense of accomplishment will remind you that........you still miss him :(

Sorry to tell you - there is no getting over love -
it just gets easier to deal with- one way is to transfer the emotions to something else while you heal.
in the healing time - you can try doing things for other people- such as - volunteer reading for kids at the library or visiting a nursing home and speaking to the residents there. There are a lot of charities that would be glad for your help - this will make you feel good in the healing time and maybe - just maybe - while your doing it - you will meet someone great and they will preoccupy your time enough that you think of the person less

I don't know if these are the top 3 ways, but it works for me.
Write up a list of all his faults (yes, he has'em!)
Write down why that relationship isn't still happening.
Write down a few things you stopped doing for yourself (things you always enjoyed but he didn't) and plan to do them again.
Take yourself on a trip somewhere with or without a friend.
Pamper yourself at home with bubble baths, fine wine and good books, healthy dinners.
Be gentle with yourself and know that someone else more suitable is also looking for you.

Accept the fact that it's over for good, don't keep your hopes up. The sooner you truly understand this the sooner you'll heal.
Stay away from him if you still see him.
Tell yourself he's not for you, you deserve someone who loves you and you can't make anyone love you.
Think negative things about him when you think of him, don't dwell on his wonderful qualities and what you like about him.

only time can tell, my friend. but for the meantime, dont force yourself to forget. i know its hard. take it lightly. take it a day at a time. then one morning, you will just wake up and the feeling is gone. Love is sweeter the second time around.
