It should certainly be allowed. That does NOT mean it should be offered via vending machines, however.....Have a good one. Just bring something with you to eat at lunch.....

It depends on your definition of junk food. Some people consider a hamburger junk food, when it is actually a relatively healthy food with lots of protein. Moderation is really the way to go because if you have ever dieted, you know that the more restrictions there are, the more you will binge in the end. Healthy substitutions such as nuts instead of chips are a good idea.

At the rate north americans are gaining weight i would say that perhaps they should get rid of junk food from schools, if not they should have vigorous campaigns that promote healthy eating and active life styles within schools.....eating badly does have a negative effect on normal bodily functioning and i think healthy habits begin within the home and schools, so the earlier we promote healthy eating to our children the better off their futures will be. I am in no way against junk food becasue i'm known to indulge myself as well once in a while, but the minimum our education systems can do is to promote healthy eating habits.

Why they should be allowed? Ask your schools treasure how much income they receive from the corporations that own a contract in supplying these foods. The school will argue that these contracts supply the school with funding for programs such as sports and after school programs that usually don't receive enough funding for students. That's the main advantage.
Other than that, there are minor advantages, but in my opinion, they are a leech. I hope you win your fight against it.

I think there needs to be a balance.
If you have some fruits and a sandwich than some chips should be okay, but not all junk food for lunch.

It raises money for the school and students are more likely to buy it than health food
