IF the merger even happens, which I am highly doubting thanks to the Senate being upset at this, the miles would be merged into the other FF program. My miles from America West were merged into the US Airways program without a problem. Same with my TWA miles going to my AAdvantage account; no problem. I do not think you need to worry about this at all because I really do not see this merger happening.

No you will not lose your miles- what people don't understand is that if Delta and US Airways merge (Which I can put money on the fact that they won't) the entire airline will still be known as Delta. According to the government regulations, whe two airlines merge the larger of the two keeps its name and work rules. So Delta will still be Delta and US Airways will be now under "Delta" and the name US Airways will cease to exist. What has happened is that Doug Parker- the CEO at US Airways is stirring up trouble and trying to scare the American public from flying with Delta for the exact reasons you posted this question. I know it sounds like a crazy answer but I guarantee you that Delta will be around for many many years to come.

don'tworry delta would pull through the merger. After all Delta is the nations #3 carrier while U.s. Airways is like #6 or something like that. My friend is a flight attendant for delta while im onne for horizon air.

Each person is allowed two bags to check in, more than that and you have to pay a fee per bag to check them in. Also, watch the weight of the bags as you could face fees if the bags are too heavy. For carry ons, you are allowed one personal item (such as a purse, briefcase) and one bag. Yes, US Air will transfer the bags to Delta for you. You will only have to carry your carry on luggage with you to the other terminal and flight.

You can never be certain but you probably won't lose them. The miles will probably be rolled over into USAirways, IF the merger takes place (which I don't think wil happen). If you already have a USAirways account they will be merged, if not then they will just give you a USAirways account.
