Valentine's is a holiday where lovers praise each other. So of course if you're alone you'll be thinking about this hardly, because you don't have anyone to praise you. If you're out of school it's easier. But when you're young it sucks, the candy grams, the balloons, the hand holding, kissing, touching, flowers and heart shaped teddy bears. Can suck! But yes I think it does influence people's decision on starting a relationship or not. But as soon as Valentine's day is over........the romance goes poof. That sucks worse than being alone.

it depends on the way you look at it if you have been together for longer than 4 months than it puts the relationship to getting more serious but if you have only been together fo a little while then you should just concentrate on making the relationship more official

It depends on the people if the guy is into buying and receiving presents or just having an excuse to make out than it adds up alot of pressure on both

only if you let it. i tell the person im with ahead of time that i dont believe the hype in valentine's day. I dont need chocalate, roses, or jewlery. The only good out of V day is spending time with the person you care, about even if its a friend or family member it doesnt have to be with someone youre romantically involved with.

Possibly, depending how you treat it.
A lot of people just know it as the sake of being a couple and do sweet things. Or have sex.
It really depends on how important the holiday is in your love life.
