Bought Fuji S3100 digital cam.Book says 16MB-512MB xd memory.Does this mean 512 is the biggest i can use?

See I wonder if there is a way to use a larger capacity card like 1GB in this cam or 512 is max.

It looks like 512 MB is your upper limit. Look on the bright side, though. With your 4 MP camera, the largest files will probably be around 2 MB or so. You can get about 250 images on a 512 MB file, which is more than someone with a 8-10 MP camera can get on a 1 GB card. You'll save money on cards.
