I just recently acquired a kitten who was born on January 4th, The woman i got her from was feeding her on goats milk.

I'm feeding her KMR with a petAG bottle, she goes at the formula now with vigor, but she isn't eating as much as it says she should be for her age. Close, but not quite. She's supposed to be eating 80 ml and is consuming about 60-65 so far.

The woman said i would have to stimulate her to eliminate. I've done this before with kittens and i have tried many things since i got her - a warm washcloth, a tissue, a baby wipe, running water, a litterbox... i've tried before and after each feeding but she has yet to go potty! It's only been about 12 hours.

She is sleeping alot, body warmth is fine, doesn't seem dehydrated ( i checked ) - sneezes occasionally but doesn't seem like anything serious.

Anyways should i be concerned at this point that she hasn't gone potty? Is there something i can do to get more food into her? Should i even be worried?

When I first got my kitten, she was 4 weeks old and even though she was eating and drinking fine, it still took her almost 2 days to go to the bathroom, even after trying the water and all the other things that you mentioned. I even let my older cat lick her butt more than I probably should have in the hopes he would stimulate a bowel movement, or something because she wouldn't even pee. I was freaking out and losing my mind. Then on the morning of when I was going to take her to the vet, she was sleeping on my chest then sat up and peed all over me. She just peed and peed and peed. I was so happy! A little grossed out, but elated nonetheless. After that she was pooping and peeing after every meal and has been fine ever since. I'm thinking she was just a little freaked out and needed a minute to settle in (she had been living under my grandma's porch before we took her in). Maybe your little one is just trying to get settled in (she'll probably start to eat more too in a day or so) but if she doesn't go by tomorrow I would call a vet for sure and see what they suggest. Good luck :-)

I've had to bottle feed seven kittens before,,I used a powdered milk called woomaroo dont know if you have that there where you are but it's good for both puppies and kittens all the instructions are on the box .. if you're worried about how much she is feeding on and want to give her the full 80ml I suggest you use a small syringe I remember I had to do that at one stage.. squirt it slowly into her mouth continue until she has had her 80ml
as for the kitten not going potty,, you should consult your vet for a check up because I dont understand why she isnt going if you say you've tried the warm cloth method I wish I could help but there must be another reason why she isnt reliefing properly,,

She may not need to go to the bathroom immediately before or after eating. Try it every hour or so until you have some luck. It's not good for it to go much longer without a bowel movement. If you don't have luck, call the woman you got her from and find out if she had luck and maybe ask for another lesson to make sure you are doing it correctly. Since she has raised kittens she may be a good barometer to judge if this is an emergency. Also, I remember rescuing newborn kittens. By 3 weeks they were already into pablum as I recall. Get some baby cereal/pablum for her and mix it into quick a not too runny consistency (use the milk you have been using for her). As she adjusts to it, thicken it. Put it in a small shallow dish. You will need to do this slowly in combination with the mild you are giving her. Its not good to suddenly change food. It will cause diarrhea. Good luck. Let us know how it works out.

attempt to apply some thing smaller, consisting of a dropper. enable the kittens suckle on their very own, in no way stress it into their mouths. as quickly as we (or any mammal), swallows, our tracheas close so as that we don't get foodstuff down our airway. If the kittens at the instant are not actively suckling, they may well be getting foodstuff down their airway. this would reason an infection and is regularly brought about aspiration pneumonia. in case you do see milk come out of their noses, you should use a bulb gadget (like a turkey baster, yet smaller), to suck it out. you should purchase those on the food market or drug shop, interior the aisle with different newborn products. save a watch on their respiratory value and attempt. in the event that they look distressed (greater value and attempt), take them to the vet top away. in the event that they look mushy, you would be alright. in no way feed them in the event that they are chilly (
