What? You better not be thinking about giving them some hippy lame *** crappy vegetarian dog food. Dogs need meat.

dah!! "VEGETARIAN" is someone who eats vegetables only ( Organic preferably ), and a " VETERINARIAN" is someone who takes care of animals. I presume thats what you meant, and I too would like to do this, but am afraid I wouldn't be able to handle the sick and suffering some would go thru, I love dogs ( especially the ones that dont bark ( like the "whippet" - wonderful dogs, and very affectionate ). So if you can handle the pain and suffering part of the job, I hope you give it more thought! We need more people in this world to care for these wonderful creatures...

Wait what? You know you don't have to be a vegetarian to take care of dogs. In fact...the well fed animals on raw diets or expensive human grade meat dog foods.....well vegetarians seem to not be able to keep up with that.

It does not matter whether you mean a vegetarian or a Veterinarian. According to me,the most important thing is to have love & affection for the dogs.I being a vet & a vegetarian can say that unless you care for the dogs, it will be difficult for you to succeed in your proffession.

What does not eating meat have to do with taking care of dogs??? I think maybe you should become a veterinarian then you can take care of dogs and a lot of different kinds of animals, and yes that would be a very nice job to have!

I'm not sure how being a vegetarian will help you to care for dogs, but you might want to look into being a veterinarian. THAT is a great job. It's NOT for the squeemish though.....vomit, diarrhea, blood, surgery, unfriendly and uncooperative patients etc. Lots of very difficult schooling too. It takes someone very special who's 500% devoted to their education and career. Not for those who really aren't sure what they want.

Assuming you mean veterinarian, you must know that for the work they do and the schooling they must go through isn't really worth the money you earn (which depending on where you live, what you are, and how good you are, it is between $65000 and $100000). But it is a very respectable position and if you really care about animals then yes it is a good job to have. But, you must work hard to be one.
