Richard, that is a very good work out for the arms, shoulders and chest, especially if you are not used to doing push ups.

I work out 3-4 days a week and I will follow this (push ups are my weakness).

Thanks!

This is a VERY good workout for both lower and upper abs
it will give you a six pack if you keep at it, in about 2 months.
My husband and I were in a college gym class and that was part of our daily workout- I believe we did at least 100 per day but start small. Good luck- it's hard to do the first week or so but after that you feel great!

okay, I'm the odd man out here. push ups suck! they do major damage to your rotator cuffs. ask anyone who's been in the military. they'll tell you more than likely what i just said. and what's the end goal? keep doing more push ups till you do 1000 a day?!? that may be okay if you don't have a life or a job but i really don't want to spend my whole day exercising. instead i suggest trying dumbbell bench presses or dumbbell flyes. I'm a big fan of dumbbells because they allow natural movement of your arms and the muscles you use to stabilize the weights are used as well. that's my take anyway

Sure, its a great workout for you deltoids (shoulders) and chest, but other than that... its not a full body routine that should be done daily. To gain true strenth you should only do pushups once or twice a week. You have to let muscle heal for it to grow, this will just continue to tear at your muscle untill your too sore to move your chest. Bad idea.

Do 5 sets of 5 on Monday and Friday, then increase to say 5 sets of 7, etc. This is how to build muslce. Same applies to crunches, you won't build your core working it out daily. It's basic human anatomy.

good luck getting to 100.

ideally if that's your goal, you shouldn't abide by that 10 day rule. You should start with about 20 or 30 - whatever the most you can do and feel it on the last one. Then when it becomes easy (you don't feel it as much) bump up to the next level. The most I have ever got to that way was about 60, but I never really shot for endurance as much as I was shooting for strength.

good luck.

Push-up are a great workout for arms and chest. Let me suggest a couple of things. First, you need recovery between workouts. Proper recovery allows muscles to build quicker. Every other day should be OK.

Second, why wait on increasing your reps. If you can do more do it. You will reach your goal quicker. Good Luck!

Do pushups everyday.

About five hundred a day

Do them in sets of twenty, or ten.

After a while it'll become easy if you dont give up and continue, truly motivated, then you can increase.

Salama alaikum wr wb.
