Cause your lazy...i used to be exactly the same. You need to snap outta it and program yourself to be a "doer" and not a "ill do it laterer". Like anything, the more you get on with it rather than leaving it to later, the easier it'l get to getting yourself in the state of mind of "oh yeah i must do that". Its all about re-training your mental perception of how you view the task at hand
Btw procrastinator = perfectionist...bullshit. How can you be a perfectionist if you never get anything done?
And for god's sake hobo...just take a damn shower ya stinky *****

It may sound strange, but procrastination is many times the result of being a perfectionist. This is because when someone is a perfectionist they don't even want to start something unless they can do it exactly right, which takes focus and energy. Often if you just don't feel you can put the focus and energy into something, you put it off for another day. You might take a look at whether you are a perfectionist and if so, consider ways to complete the task, while putting less energy and "perfection" into it. Good luck.

In "Gone With the Wind," Scarlett O'Hara was the classic procrastinator. The gist of that portrayal was that she was a flightly butterly. I admit that I too am a procrastinator. Why do you, and I, have that problem? It's a question of indecision. I'm not convinced this is a bad thing. Maybe we're both just overly cautious?

when I was younger, yes. Here's what works for me: If I have busy week ahead where time is of the essence, I will just quickly write down what needs to be done day by day. Kind of like a check list for each day. I know it sounds anal but it works for me. At the end of each day it feels great to know that the daily to-do's have been done. Then I sit back and relax.

YES! Im one of the biggest, and my school work has suffered terribly because of it. (Im a freshman in college.) I have had this problem ever since junior high. I know its because Im not motivated at all. The main thing I try to do is set very very small task, instead of one big one. Instead of thinking "Oh, God I hav a HUGE paper to write." I think "Let me write five senteces." See? told you they were small. But its just something I HAVE to do to make it all the way through. When you break up big things to small things it helps. at least for me it does. Hope this helped. :)

This is an excuse used by many. It means that you can't be bothered with it and more than likely won't do it.

Because it's something you don't really want to do?
If it's something you don't want to do but have to do, imagine how good it'll feel to have it over and done with. That'll help motivate you to get it over and done with. :)
