Well, there are dreams and there is reality, unless you have a very rich daddy to buy it for you it's going to have to wait untill you finish college. It is a very nice dream though

okay, this is coming from a mouth of a 17 year old. When I was 16 I purchased my own Mustang GT it was a 2001 and cost me 13,000. I worked from when I was 14 on to purchase my dream car. Getting a Shelby Cobra is unrealistic. Keep your goals realistic and you will be surprised on what you can accomplish. Get a job at a upscale restaurants. When I was 14 I was making roughly $600-750 a month working around 3 nights a week. I had my money to have fun with and to save. If you learn how to save you can too purchase a nice car. I worked my *** off for almost 3 years to buy my car on my own. Also, do not spend all of you $$$ on a car, b/c **** does go wrong. I just put 1,600 into my Stang b/c of i needed a new clutch and rebuilt rear end. Have fun, and hope that helps.

You can do like everyone else says, job, school, insurance, etc.
But keep in mind that Ford is looking to build only 10,000 of them so there's a 2007 and a 2008 model. So by the time you turn 16, they might be all gone.
Ford is however coming out with a Shelby Mustang GT (330hp) and probably a Bullitt Mustang in 2009. Those will mostly likely be cheaper and more in line with when you get your drivers license.

Your trying to raise enough money in 3 years to buy a Shelby GT 500?The best way would be to rob a bank.Because there is no way you can get enough money in 3 years to buy one.If your plans is to work.No one pay that much to a 16 year old.
But I will say this much.YOU HAVE GOOD TASTE?

I would start with a V-6 mustang because the insurance is cheaper and fix it up with whatever engine you want in it. They insurance company would only charge you for V-6 because they go off the VIN. You never know though.

Maybe buy the time you get old enough to afford one you will have figured it's just another overrated overpriced Mustang. Buy on older 5.0 you will much happier in the long run.

a job?
but truthfully i don't suggest getting a stang at the age of 16. it's too powerful. my cousin got one at 16 and ended up wrapping it around a tree. he had never gotten in an accident before that. that amount of power got to him.
besides do you really want the kids you go to school w/ to hit your car in the parking lot? i've seen that one happen too.
i'm 16 now, and i'm waiting till i'm older to get a stang. hopefully a '67 GT 500....like Eleanor!
But good luck and i hope you can reach your dreams!
