I'll say this, there are some clever authors of the bible. For instance, the prophecy that at the end times, many people will leave the church.

Gee let me ponder on why a religion interested in its own preservation would include a prophesy like that?

Sorry folks, not gonna dig up the reference, but I do see it alluded to here, so next time I will ask for specifics. If you don't believe me that's fine. But in my opinion, the phrophecy of the end times is simply one more way to scare you into staying with the church.

i have realized it for years!
but it wont dissuade me from believing in christ. because there are too many witnessess of the resurrection. too many testimonies of life after death.
the trick is to know what is true and what is indoctrination through false teachers.
While i became a christian because of the belief of hte rapture, and mostly because i believed the bible, i also know there are many different theories of what is true.
the opposing doctrine that teaches the resurrection has its own versions too.
one version is that ALL flesh will be destroyed and only a few will be changed in a twinkling of eye. They will be resurrected in that second. They will be the Meek and HOLY who inherit the earth. but the resurrection will take an entire YEAR to begin with.
However, there already was a Resurrection when all the grave opened and the saint which slep came forth. the firstfruits of the resurrection.
so in the days of noah, everyone died except the most faithful, and in the last days All will die except those that are like NOAH.
Katrina proved one verse which is incorrectly interpreted as the Rapture, where it says 2 will be on the roof and 1 will be taken and the other left. Well, the people i saw on the roof tops were saved in the flesh the ones that were taken were DIED.

but one thing is clear, Some people will meet the lord in the clouds and the dead will rise first. it can also be said that the firstfruits already raised up. Now it only happens to be the hour when jesus comes in all glory that the rest of the righteous will be raised up in the sky.

This also is a marvelous example of a leading question:

"In common law systems that rely on testimony by witnesses, a leading question is a question that suggests the answer or contains the information the examiner is looking for..." (wikipedia)

So while this is a wonderful piece of Rhetoric, it really isn't much of a question...

Obviously, your opinion is that the bible isn't the revealed word of God, and so therefore is invalid. It does reek of arrogance to then assume that everyone that holds an opinion that is different from yours is "being gamed". Isn't that what most of the Y!A atheists accuse the Xians of doing?

When a group tells me how perfect everything is and how everybody is so happy, happy, happy, I get worried. The names David Koresh and Jim Jones immediately come to mind.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 *does* say, "Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition."

This is one Christian who would rather know the truth than pretend everything is just hunky-dory.

.And you're just another fool blinded by Satan. If you really knew what you were talking about I would have thought you had a brain. But you don't. So here's my suggestion; GET ONE! The Holy Bible is nothing to be gamed with either. So I highly recommend that you find a "brain" fast, so as not to embarrass yourself like that anymore with that ridiculously stupid question that came from that totally lobotomized head of yours.

Let me guess...you believed every thing the Devinci Code said about religion and that the author is the bringer of light onto all us poor little christians. So why does it hurt you so bad that people believe in something diffrent then you?

It's amazing how the authors of the Bible can still manipulate deluded people centuries after their death.

try thinking. it was put there so people could recognize end times signs....

and we know Christianity won't last forever, and neither will religion. Christianity will end about 1007 years post rapture. religion will end when the world is destroyed.

it's up to you what you believe in, but you better believe the time is about up. just watch up one day you will see jesus and you will bow to him and your tongue will confess that he is lord. you better take another look at this and really think hard before making a decision on this. god loves you! just remember that. jesus died on the cross for you and me and i thank him and love him for that.

This is also in the Qur'an, that people will less and less turn to religion.
But correct me if i'm wrong, isn't that what's happening?
