ive got royal blue fabric.
a sewing machine.
i dont like using patterns.
how do i do this??

Measure the distance from under your arms to where you
want the length of the shirt. Then measure the distance
around you under your arms. Mark these measurements,
add two inches to the top and bottom for a hem and again to
the pieces that connect in the front...this will vary if you want
buttons for closures, or hooks, or a soft ruffle. Cut a rectangle
to these measurements and try it on, making adjustments
for darts that will make it fit your body. I've done this a lot
with stretch fabric which makes the fit perfect...and just
left the front fabric to fall in a small ruffle down the front.
You can always add a halter strap or slide in a long piece
of elastic into the top seam for a snug fit. To accomodate
a larger bust, give yourself a little more room around.
