I agree with Wytch_Vam that it's a nickname for "Luis," with the exception that I have always seen it spelled "Gûicho."

No word native to Spanish begins with a w or a k.

Anything pronounced wicho would be spelled huicho according to the usual rules of spelling.

I have never heard this word, and have been teaching Spanish in College for 35 years.

It could be some sort of slang, or that character on the TV show.

Its short for the name Maurice or Mauricio, or Louis as well. Similar to how a lot of people named Robert are called Bob in the United States. I have a dog named Maurice and my dad always calls him Wicho. But I think it's spelled Huicho, not Wicho.

In Mexico is a kind of short name for men whose name is Luis. Some people use those short names to show fondness or affection.

For example:

Name - Short name

Luis = Wicho

Francisco = Paco, Pancho.

Alfonso = Poncho

José = Pepe

Eduardo = Lalo

Alberto = Beto

Traditionally the correct word is "Huicho", but "Wicho" has the same sound and it is also used...

"Wicho" is the nickname for the name "Mauricio".

That's the only word "Wicho" I know of in Spanish.
