I am not saying its fixed, I am only saying that the MTV-like promotion of the UFC seems like the WWE. It doesnt seem like a professionally promoted sport.

I hear you man. I think a few UFC fights have been scripted over the last few years at least. No offense to true believers but remember the Ultimate Fighter season 1. They took Forrest Griffin and in about six months they supposedly turned him into a near equal of Tito Ortiz. WTF? In the Tito/Forrest fight I believe Tito was paid to barely win over Forrest. Look at the complete and utter physical domination by Ortiz in round 1. Then in round 2 Ortiz barely puts up a fight then same thing in round 3. Then Ortiz wins by decision which made little sense also. The same thing goes for a BJ Penn fight I saw recently against some newb from the show;Total domination then champ goes flat and gets beat.. The UFC seems to want to draw viewers into these underdog storylines from The Ultimate Fighter TV show and then place them against Olympic level athletes where they are to have a good shot and maybe win. Sorry but this is not the way of reality. For those of you who are not skeptical I have a bridge to sell, also an ancient ninja fighting art which has been passed down to me only. For just $99.95 etc., etc.

No I don't believe so. The only comparisons you can make is in the showmanship these fighter display. There have been fixed mma fights in Japan (this is a fact), but I don't believe they are happening in the UFC. Thats not to say that it has never happened or will not happen sometime. But the UFC wants to be seen as the top banana, and if word of fixed fights ever came out it would destroy their credibility. 'Nuff said.

Nope, it still looks better than WWE if you ask me.

that's just advertising man, these people that come up with these ad campaigns are ALWAYS gonna find some way to catch a potential customers eye.

Take one of the xyience commercials, the one with the chick in the super short black outfit sitting on the leather chair with the "energy" drink beside her.

she starts out lookin like she's too tired to do anything, but pop the can; and a few swigs later, she's actin' like she could do a lapdance marathon (complete with the 50 foot pyrotechnics in the background)

now you know there were a bunch of suckers that just HAD to go right out and buy some of that stuff, just because they saw that commercial (prob'ly because they thought that if some chicks saw 'em drinkin the Xyeince energy drink that it'd make 'em look good)

it's capitalism dude, plain and simple, just makin' money to endorse their products, just like anywhere else.

it's DEFINITELY not fixed. there will always be questionable judging on occasion (like when BJ pen destroyed GSP and lost a decision) or when some fights are stopped much quicker than other, but all in all it's completely legit. i liked Ortiz in his prime, but he's definitely lost a step. i don't think he trains like he might have before, also he isn't surprising anyone anymore.
and yes... the entrances are a bit annoying, but if anyone remembers kimo you know it could be MUCH worse...

I don't understand what you mean. UFC is real fighting and WWE is scripted and fake.

Only with the fighters entrance, other than that there's no comparison.
