Wassup guys, been with this girl for 8 years, usually me and her see each other every night, I mean we have our clique of friends but mostly I just see her, every night. We're not married and don't live together, by the way. Anyway, everytime she meets someone new, like a new friend thats a girl, she tries to get mad at me and then turn something against me to "take a break" while she goes and hangs out with them? I just don't understand it. Not that I am controlling but why can't she outright tell me she wants to go out with a new friend she met? But of course if I met with someone new she wouldn't like it, blah blah.

This happens everytime she meets a new friend. She tries to pick a fight or say we "need a break" and then come to find out she made plans with this person. Why does she act like this?

She will say, "well, she asked me if I wanted to hang out with her, and I know me and you didn't make plans." That is what she'll say. Keep in mind this ONLY happens when she meets a new friend, any other time we don't need to make plans, we just hang out since we see each other everyday and night. I don't understand???

Sounds like she feels as though you are not giving her the amount of freedom she needs to do her own thing.

Either that or she feels guilty for wanting to hang out with a new friend and isn't comfortable having to choose between seeing you or the new person.

In any case, it is easier for her to pick a fight with you about it because it enables her to hang out with the new friend without feeling bad for leaving you behind.

You both may just spend too much time together. Some distance may help her to regain her sense of independence, which in turn will make her feel more comfortable with making new friends without having to worry about how she thinks you might react to it.

After eight long years you should have figured out that it's pointless to try to figure women out. All you have to do is say "Yes, ma'm" or "No, ma'm", keep your eyes to the floor whenever a good-looking woman passes by, and ALWAYS remember that she is right regardless of how stupid her argument is. Do that, and you're ready for the altar!

wow, this girl needs space, give her some space, u trying to smother her.
let her have her friends and space, find u a good hobby or go out with her and her friends to a movie.
U both may need to sow your wild oats and date others.

UMMMM.. THATS A HARD QUESTION. maybe she wants her new friends to think that even though she has a bf she can still do whatever she wants too.
