Why does it hurt to break-up when it was my idea ?

because you had something and you lost it. You just have to go through an adjustment phase.

I thought I was going to be relieved from calling it off with a girl, I was sorta sad for a week, not relieved. I knew it was the right thing to do before I did it. I had some doubts afterwards though.

Now I am settled and I know it was the right thing.

The good thing about breaking up with the other person, is that you can get them to go back out with you whenever you want, in most cases.

Did you have a good reason to break up? Was it a moment of emotion that wasn't founded in logic? Did that person understand the reason for the break-up?

You might be a sensitive person with a kind heart that will mourn a past relationship even if it was past its time. This will heal with time.

The end of a relationship is always hard, whether it was your doing or his. You have spent time and energy and shared things with this person that you don't usually share with others. Also, now that you are single, you could be missing the daily talks or seeing him when you come home etc. It will hurt for a while, but you will get over it. Good luck to ya!

It hurts because now that you have broken up with him, you have realized that you love him more than you thought and the fact that you're at fault and that you don't have him again is painful. You may have broken up with him because you have liked another person or you have just gotten tired of him, but now you realize that you have wronged and have lost someone valuable. What I would advice you to do is swallow your pride just once and go back for him. Time lost can never be regained. Good luck.

Because it doesn't matter who's idea it was to break up. If you care about them then it will still hurt both of you. It's normal. In time the pain will heal. Give it time and you'll heal.

it depends on how, why, and when. lets take my most recent break-up. his name was derek....my name i wont give out....anyway derek and i were together for a month and a week. i broke up with him when we(my friend and her family and i) came back from florida for thanksgiving break. here's how: in a note that i gave my friend to give to him cause i just couldnt do it myself. here's why: (1) he was actin very stupid and childish(but as i've learned most if not all act like that), (2) he was half a foot shorter than me(still is but that's not the point). anyway my point is if you knew the relationship wasnt goin anywhere after a while then you also knew that the break-up was goin to be even worse.....

ok for me, id rather have my heart broken then break someone elses...This just shows you are a good person, because more then likely you feel bad for hurting him. Or you were used to him and now are just lonely.

Because you got used to the person. Trust me, down the road you'll be happier....if it's meant to be. It's just that you got used to the person. Also, females tend to blame themselves over break ups. Don't fall into that, you are a valuable person.

because you have to make it through life without him around and that takes awhile to adapt to until you find someone new you have a huge interest in. nobody said it would ever be easy it takes time...even if youre the one who broke up with him.
