Are all white chocolate chips made with cocoa butter?
I have a package of white chocolate chips and it says "Real Cocoa Butter," but I don't know if all white chocolate has that in it.

Good white "chocolate" has cocoa butter in it. The other stuff is usually called vanilla coating and has a LOT of wax in it. Tastes kind of gross. White chocolate doesn't have any chocolate in it, only the cocoa butter, which does come from the same bean, which is probably why it gets called chocolate when it tastes nothing like it. :)

White chocolate by definition needs cocoa butter. It's what gives this fake-chocolate the consistency and mouth-feel of real chocolate-chocolate.

There is no such thing as "White chocolate" it's always cocoa butter, almost never has any cocoa. Unlike Milk or dark chocolate whose quality is determined by the cocoa content, anything over 40% is usually very expensive and dark. Hershey's is like 6%.

no. A lot of "baking chips" don't have any cocoa butter in them, they are just hydrogenated oils and sugar and flavoring...REAL white chocolate is the best.

white chocolate is actually a misnomer. it isn't really chocolate at all. it is in large part cocoa butter. there are no cocoa solids that other chocolates have.

There's no difference other than the quality of ingredients and cost. You can always substitute a bar for chips, especially if it's just for melting. I would just chop the bar up until the chips equal that 1/2 cup.

I heard that white chocolate is really cocoa butter and not really "chocoloate".

no, depending on the quality some white chocolate has startches and other fats.
You must have a good chocolate there ( probably couverture and not compound chocolate)
