I'm 90 days late I made arrangments to pay 100 a month so as soon as I could I sent 300 dls, like 2 weeks ago the checks cleared so I know they got them but they still sent me a notice that I have a warrant for my arrest...I have to post 5000 dls bail? So If I go to the courthouse as they requested will they arrest me? I'm trying in good faith to pay...How can I fix that?

I also need to add that this is a mistake I made I am not proud about it. I'm glad it happened in a way because I see it as an intervention, and I don't need people to judge me for it. I just came on here to ask this question.

You MUST go to the courthouse. Although you made yourself current in your payments you HAVE to clear up the warrant or the next time a cop pulls you over it is off to jail. I highly doubt if you will be taken into custody if all you have in your past is that DUI, but plan for the possibility.

If I were you I would find out if you'll be arrested before you're supposed to show up. If you call and are able to talk to somebody framiliar with the case and they tell you that you are going to be arrested, even though you made the payment when you could, you need to ask for a public defender or hire a lawyer yourself (if you can't afford $100/month on time I assume you'll need a public defender).

If I had to guess I'd say they will not arrest you if you just call and talk to them and continue to make payments on time from now on.

I'm sorry that you're in trouble... Unlike some of the other people who answered I do not look down on somebody for making a mistake that most people have made sometime in their life (driving while under the influence of alcohol).

Sure they can. Sometimes it's only a scare tactic. Retailers don't want to trash your credit, they only want the money that you promised to give them. Also, some processes are automated and if the computer sees that you have not paid the proper amount as of the due date, it may automatically send out a collection notice. Be sure to respond with a phone call right away. Most companies will work with you if it appears that you are trying.

A court-ordered fine is not something that you get a "late period warning" on...if you don't pay the fine on time as ordered in the sentencing, you're in violation of your sentencing and are going to jail - period. Non-negotiable, no questions asked. Late is late, and you do NOT have ANY defense. You violated the terms of your sentencing, and now they're looking for you.

My suggestion is that you go get yourself a lawyer and turn yourself in. That looks much better than having them come to your house or picking you up on a traffic stop.

Now you need a lawyer. When dealing with the courts, you have to pay ON TIME all the time. Once you miss ANYTHING, you need a lawyer. Hire one ASAP and follow ALL of his instructions. He may be able to clear things up for you, and you may only have to spend one or two days in jail.

If you're late and show up at the courthouse, you will be arrested. I would recommend getting a lawyer and see if he can do anything. Good faith or not, if your late paying a fine, you're in deep trouble.

You made arrangements, you broke the deal. DUIs are not treated like a silly little mistake. They are serious! You knew about it when you committed the crime and yet you still defaulted on the promise you made. Better hope you don't get pulled over again. You will go to jail.

.Unfortunately by being late with the payment (even though you eventually made it up) you did not follow through with the conditions of release. They can arrest you.

Call the courthouse and ask them. Get a lawyer and make your payments on time. Hope you have vacation time accrued.
