Would 2 subs at 500 watts total sound better than 1 sub at 500 watts? Same subs and amp of course, with both configurations at 2 ohms.

Sure, give the fact that they are deep-throw in the area of a 8" to 12" cone--and not a 22' speaker. Anything above a 16" moves the cone so slowly that it may fight with another sub woofer and try to make if slave depending on the location.

MTX Thunder 9500 T9512-40 4 - motor vehicle subwoofer motive force - 12" is honestly astounding! you'd be putting off motor vehicle alarms up and down the line, that is for effective the most acceptable subwoofer I actually have ever heard. This sub's vibrations phsyically broke my rear view mirror from my windshield. you may stand outdoors and pay interest to the air being released round your flexing sunroof! you'll listen your hair follicles shaking everywhere in the finished body, ever unmarried invividual eyelash will be felt shaking. in case you purchase a sub as well this one, and then listen this one, you'll at present be apologetic about your decision no longer to get this. it is going to coach you which ones amplifiers are over-rated, that is a assure. I fried a sony amp the first day... kicker amp did not do a lot extra effective, 1200W rms JBL has been protecting up ever on the grounds that I were given it, So i recognize that is a real powerhouse. in case you purchase this make effective you get a capacitor otherwise each and every basic on your motor vehicle will dim at the same time as this sub hits demanding.

No. Bass is non-directional. That is why 4 channel audio systems have the sub placed out of sight anywhere in the room. All 2 subs will do is make me storm out of my house with a baseball bat even faster when you are sitting outside my house at 3 in the morning, vibrating my windows. You cannot listen to 500 watts in your car, unless your speakers are REALLY inefficient. I have a power meter in my home stereo. At 10 watts per channel, it is too loud to have a conversation in my living room. At 30 watts per channel my stereo sounds good in the yard and the neighbouring houses.

well 2 subs at 500 watts on one amp only gives each sub half the power of the amps rms power output. (rms is half of peak power) now if you had two amps (one for each sub) it would be crisp. if your looking for more bass out of one amp go with one sub not 2 subs with one amp

if you have enough watts to push both for sure... The thing you have to remember about subs is if you dont have enough watts they wont do much of anything. Bigger and more are for sure better. So I say keep it XTREME... Go big if you need anything let me know...

one would be sufficiant,it would get the full 500 watts, instead of splitting the 500,you would only be pushing 250 each.i would just go with the one,or if you want to use both get a bigger amp

of course but it is even better if you have a 2 channel amp and you space them properly and you have to make sure that you have enought room for air space. thats what makes them bump is the air space

your better off getting just one, but get a bigger sub ie get one good 12 instead of 2 shitty 8s. unlees therir going under the seat in a truck, then your just screwed.
