Depends on where you live. If it's D.C. the only gun you can have is one you draw on a piece of paper. I used to live in Idaho and friends of mine had machine-guns. Call your local gun dealer and ask. That would be the easiest place to start.

Depends on the state you live in. Also, you can own anything as far as firepower goes with the right license. Some guns you own with either nothing or a state license. Other guns you need a special state permit. Still others you need a Federal permit to own the gun.

Say you wanted your own personal LAW rocket. You have to apply to the Federal government for a permit to own one, and then you have to convince the local Sherrif of the county you live in that you should be allowed to have it and use it for your own defense.

It might be simpler to get the WWI 50mm Officer's Anti-Tank gun. Since its a gun, and it is NOT automatic, you can by it from a gun show and the Sherrif is not going to knock on your door about it. But you still have the same stopping power as a LAW rocket - only if you fire it you may break your shoulder.

It depends directly in which state you live. Some States do not require anything other than proof of residence. Others make you jump through many many hoops (institutionalized harassment) before you get some variant of a license or a permit to own a gun.

You cannot own a fully automatic machine gun without a special BATF license - that is applicable in all States.

Most states that allow concealed carry of a firearm have some form of licensing for that.

Generally speaking, the North East has the most restrictive gun control/licensing requirements in the USA - Though New Hampshire and Vermont (and I think Maine) have quite relaxed licensing requirements. Many major metro cities has substantial restrictions on firearm ownership. I think it's accurate to say our Nation's capitol has the most egregious anti gun laws.

The NRA has a nice gun reg reference by state on their site: WWW.NRA.ORG

A license? No, but at least in Caliornia you MUST go through a records check that takes about two weeks and then the weapons have to be registered with the Department of Justice. If you mean can you carry a gun without a license, then the correct answer is NO. You have to apply for a concealed weapons permit and THEN you are restricted as to what weapons that those can be.

i do no longer imagine it is sweet from both an ethical and a tactical point of view. before everything it isn't the civilians who began the conflict and interior the case of Iraq it became a dictatorship battling the conflict no longer the individuals. concentrated on civilians serves no useful purpose, if some thing it can make it worse for the occupation. If the conflict end turning out to be a conflict adverse to the authorities or insurgents and turns right into a conflict adverse to the individuals then the individuals will strive against lower back. there is not any way a rustic can win a guerrilla conflict with stress. (examples contain the Iraq conflict, Vietnam and the Blitz)

To own a gun, only certain cities and states require you to get a firearms owners ID card, most do NOT have this requirement. To carry a gun concealed, you have to have a permit, which are quite easy to obtain in most states , if you pass the criminal background check.

In Illinois you must have a license to own firearms. You may own rifles, shotguns and pistols. You must have a special federal license to own automatic weapons, such as machine guns.
