I recently went off the medication, Topamax, with the instructions of my doctor and a gradual decrease. Ever since I have been completely off of the medication I have been so nauseous and dizzy. It has been a week and I am still feeling this way. I can't find any information on the withdrawal symptoms of Topamax, other than the increased chance of seizures. Am I suffering from withdrawal and how long will it last?

I cannot find any info as of yet either. I stopped taking it yesterday and i too am dizzy as a bat!! Nausea is one of the main reasons i stopped it and that hasnt changed as of yet. I was down to 15mg (sprinkle caps) and yesterday i took none. Probably not much help, but wanted u to know you arent alone!

If you are alcohol dependent your withdrawal should be medically supervised, because it CAN kill you (people think heroin withdrawal is bad, but it won't kill you while alcohol withdrawal can). With a doctor's supervision, medications can be used. In any case, I would advise that you get some help. It's easy to stop drinking, the hard part is learning to live a life without alcohol. If you have traumatic experiences in your past, make sure to get therapy for that in addition to "regular" substance abuse counseling.

What happens if I miss a dose?

Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Skip the missed dose if you are more than 6 hours late in taking it. Wait until your next scheduled dose. Do not take extra medicine to make up the missed dose.
Call your doctor for instructions if you miss two or more doses.

The best thing is to obviously consult your doctor. You can also go to the website for the drug. I was able to quickly find it at www.topamax.com

Hope that helps.
