This just happened today, and I am going to take her to the Vets tomorrow, but tonight I am really worried about her. Her back legs buckle under her and her front legs are caving in as well. she can still put weight on her legs but they give way on her. Do you think this is neourological or does it sound like her knee caps dislocated?

At that age, it could be a lot of things. It could just be a bad onset of arthitis due to cold weather (Depending on where you live).

The best thing to do is get her to the vet.

Eat breakfast, keep swimming, and maybe eat a little less for a few meals. Also, you're only 12. It could be baby fat, I've seen that happen. Once you start maturing and growing your body will use some of those reserves to fuel puberty and growth in general. Just live healthy!

It does sound neurological to me. She hasn't had access to poison or anything like that has she? It could be a stroke, it could be alot of things. I wonder if she has showed signs before now? Anything neurological before, epilepsy??
Seeming you cannot get to the vet until 2Moro you need to keep her inside and warm and be home to watch her progress.
It always helps if you can write the things down that she is doing tonight as you may forget tomorrow when you go to the vets

Good Luck

****Immediate treatment by your vet is necessary!!**** We had a 15 year old dog who exhibited the same symptoms. He'd tip over, tink his head to the side, run into chair legs etc. Unfortunately he began showing these signs late evening and we chose to let it go until the next day. He had had a stroke and his brain was swelling, effecting his motor functions and balance. In the end he was thrashing about at the vets, who put him on steroids to try to contain the swelling and bring him back to a relatively stable condition. It was useless and we had him put to sleep, it was the best and only decision to relieve his suffering. Guilt? I beat myself up everyday for not being more dillligent.

maybe arthritis or muscle wasting since she is 84 (in human years)
it's about time for that stuff concidering her age....just try and keep her as comfortable as you can until tomorrow... & best wishes to you both

being that it's happening with both front and back legs, it's probably neurological , are her eyes affected? if so, it's probably a stroke.
