i honestly dont think that he will win a champioship at DEI.there is too much turmoil and animosity there.Teresa should sell Jr a percentage of DEI,afterall it was his dad that srarted DEI.and i am sure dale sr started DEI with his kids in mind.
if he does wind up leaving DEI,yes he should take the eurys and budweiser sponsorship with him.i dont think that he should start his own team, yet.the best place he can go would be to RCR.there he willl get full support from richard and the RCR organization.
either way i hope what ever decision he makes will benefit him in the future.

I think its a money issue... You know Jr is bringing in a ton of cash, where is it all going... Someone needs to spend it to get DEI on the right track. I think Jr is just as capable of winning a championship, as Tony (I make my own rules) Stewart, or Kurt Busch (Sorry Jr fans to put you in the same sentence).
We all must keep in mind that there are probably 40 teams that show up week in and week out... I know 43 qualify, but there are always those guys who cant get in because of the points and all of that stuff... So lets say, to be realistic to start the season we have 15-20 cars that have a great chance at winning the championship. I would put all of Hendrick in the mix except Kyle (I think hes still too young) I would put all of Roush in the mix, I would add Tony, Carl, Khane, Harvick, Burton, and Jr. There will always be the rookies from last year that could give them a run also... What I am trying to say is that Jr is right in there with the rest of them... I am not a Jr fan, I am a Gordon fan, and I find myself defending Jr a lot on here... But a few years ago Jr and Eury were killing everyone, then they split up and rejoined each other and it has not been the same since...
I think the bottom line is that DEI is not spending money where they need to be spending it... actually, I wonder if Jr's step mom is even putting much back into the race team compared to the rest of the field...
Staying at DEI does not mean he will never win a Championship! I mean come on! Moving to R.C.R. does not mean he will win one either... RCR had its last championship in Nascar's top series was in 1994 with big E...

#48 fan - atleast Jr doesnt cheat!!!!!
Jr will end up leaving DEI. She doesnt want to give him the part ownership that he deserves. If DEI has tons of money.....then why cant they get a good pit crew together? She has no idea how to run that team and its going to go into the ground as fast as Dale Sr built it. If Jr moves to RCR he will have a better shot at winning more races and a championship then he would at DEI. Namesake has nothing to do with it. Jr is a whole different drive then daddy was. Yes sometimes he looks like dad out on the track....but Childress wants him cause he knows that he can have Jr turned around and moving forward.

People need to look beyond The Intimidator. Junior is not his father. he needs to be his own person. If he gets in the 3 car, (which will never happen) the pressure would be far greater to perform. If he went there, it would be to sell diecasts. junior is not the Second Coming. He will never be Dale Earnhardt. They greww up in 2 different worlds. Dale Sr. fought hard to get where he was. junior was born into his. I know I will get all kinds of Thumbs down but the truth hurts sometimes

First of all Jr hasn't won a championship because he hasn't earned it. Secondly, to what "shu" wrote.... he is back on track? How does winning TWO races in TWO years equal "back on track"? Yes, he made the chase last year, but so did Jeremy Mayfield the two years before that. Hell, I don't even like Tony "I could never do anything wrong, I'm perfect" Stewart, but he deserved to be in the chase more than Jr did.
Think about this... Teresa Earnhardt is not willing to give up a portion of Big E's company to his namesake. She is a "non-involved" owner... how often is she actually at the track? Childress would probably give his right arm to be able to sign Jr to a lifetime contract (championship or not, but just because of his name). DEI has him because it was his Dad's team. If Jr left, Budweiser would inevitably go with him and then what would DEI have? Nothing. They'd have Martin (I piss on my own car) Truex Jr and Paul Menard. THERE'S A CHAMPIONSHIP WAITING TO HAPPEN.

I agree. DEI is not really dedicated to winning a championship. Jr. does not have the teammates to help him out either. I mean Truex and Menard have potential but it could be a few years before they are anywhere near the top. RCR is his best choice. He has Harvick, Burton and a solid newcomer in Bowyer. Maybe I am biast because I am a Harvick fan, but I tthink Jr. needs to follow his fathers footsteps to RCR.

well... depends on how well DEI gets. Some races it appears theyr gettin better, and some races, Jr wants to get the **** out. I totally agree, if Jr doesnt get his contract renewed, him and Eury should move to Childress and drive the #3 car ( how cool would that be!!!!!!)

Jr. is too worried about being a public figure and not serious enough about racing to win a championship. He needs someone strong as a leader who will see that he is focused when he needs to be, yet allows him to be the public figure he is - on an appropriate level.
To everyone giving me thumbs down - Look at the facts. He has more endorsment deals than anybody. Theresa isn't the leader she needs to be for that team. And how many #8 fans are fans not because of his name or because many people are? I started as a Kevin Harvick fan because he took over Dale's car in very trying circumstances, but stayed a fan because he's a real person and not a NASCAR created figure like the #24 and #48.

You are absolutely correct. He should leave, unless Theresa hands over half the company. This way Jr. could have some control, over R&D and personnel. Theresa has no clue how to run a race team, she is to busy making Sr. memoribillia.
