The back of my head, over to left side slightly, has been tender in a spot the size of a quarter for a few days. The tingling and pain started to become more apparent to me over the last 24 hours or so, and the area is increasing in tenderness and a tingling feel. It is increasing in sensitivity, as though the hair hanging from my scalp in this area is causing strain/discomfort.

you probably have a dead nerve or something...sometimes that can happen from lying your head on a harder surface (like the arm of a couch) for long periods of time. As long as it isn't partnered with blurry vision or dizziness or anything like that I would assume.
