The dryer sheet and the skin so soft both work, but I go with vanilla. Get the cheap roll on vanilla cologne and roll it on your ankles and neck...you smell good and the mosquitoes never bother you when you use it! Where are there mosquitoes in the winter? I'm glad I don't live there!!!! :) Maybe you're not getting bitten by mosquitoes...could there be something else biting you? Or could it be an allergy from your fabric softener or detergent?

Pennyroyal is an herb that supposedly keeps the mosquitos away, Mine is really getting big this year and so far I have only seen one mosquito, but I intend to transplant some in various places around my garden and yard to keep the entire area free. Also it is still early in the year for them here so they may show up. And I burn citronella candles all around my arbor, I believe it helps and I like the candles. BIG PS, PENNYROYAL IS NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION, I don't think it would kill anybody or any pet but it makes you nauseous. I have a dog and she has never been bothered by it.

i work for the consolidated mosquito abatement district in fresno ca. the best spray to use is off deep woods or any thing with the chemical deet in it. for you face and neck there are wipes so you don't have to spray repellent on your face. you shouldn't be getting bit this time of the year because mosquito season ended in november and doesn't start until march. but also where do you live? try these things and if it doesn't work i'll get back to you.

I have hung bat boxes and purple martin houses. The combination of bats and birds help to keep most of the insects down at all hours.
Wearing light colored clothes also helps.
I cannot recall which B vitamin it is, but you can get B Complex Vitamins at your local pharmacy. This vitamin excretes a natural mosquito repellent though persperation. Unnoticeable to humans.
All of this works to some degree, a combination would be better protection.

Eat Sam's onions. Haha, just kidding. (From Holes, for whomever doesn't get it)
Mosquitos are attracted to body heat. Since, by my logic at least, it isn't really possible to eliminate your body heat, perhaps try wearing more layers. Maybe body heat won't be able to transfer in strong quantities to the outermost layers.

Citronella spray works great for me. I've also heard that rubbing your skin with one of those Bounce drier sheets works, but I've never tried.

This sounds crazy but really works! Try carrying around a dryer sheet. Tuck one in your pocket, leave it hanging out. It works!

Avon's SKIN SO SOFT is a great repellent, altho it wasn't made to repel bugs. It works and it doesn't smell bad.
