Well...neither -- and both. The Church -- and science's understanding of things changed. While the OT does not mention the earth being flat, the idea of it being thus is from where we get the term the "four corners of the earth":
"I took you from the ends of the earth, from its farthest corners I called you." (Isaiah 41:9)
"Son of man, this is what the Sovereign LORD says to the land of Israel: The end! The end has come upon the four corners of the land." (Ezekiel 7:2)

Where in the Bible does it say that? It doesn't matter what a church says. Some churches believe you can be gay and a Christian both and that is wrong. You can't always believe what a church says , the Bible is the final word.

The world used to be flat disk ( the bible called it a circle which is flat ) but that was in the old testament. It is widely believed by Christian scholars who have studied the bible that Jesus changed it to being round ( a sphere ) in the new testament.

Churches are a crutch for people who cannot get a grip on reality . If they are such a good thing , I ask myself why there have been so many millions of people murdered in the name of religion /

The Bible did not say that . It said that the world is sphere.
And four corners refers to east and west and north and south.
