FIVE YEARS? Mononucleosis? Most people get over mono in less than a month. How can you have mono for 5 years?

There is no cure for mononucleosis, but the good news is that even if you do nothing, the illness will go away by itself, usually in 3 to 4 weeks.

When symptoms persist for more than six months, the condition is frequently called “chronic” EBV infection. However, laboratory tests generally cannot confirm continued active EBV infection in people with “chronic” EBV infection. Such cases are often further evaluated to detect chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS).

You have to get her take vitamins that work on the blood cells. Check out different health and wellness sites. Vitamins that build up the cells try a larger dose as she is deficent. Look at it instead of a disease but as something she is not getting her diet. Many people have improved terminal conditions by dietary changes or supplements. There is what used to be a wieght loss company thats been around 27 years has a cell activator which I take, I suffer from chronic anemia and has helped with other vitamins has increased red blood cells. All products are natural we don't get because of perservatives and over farming opf the soil.

Actually once you get mono you have it for your whole entire life. Kind of like a volcano, it lies dormant in your body but can come back on. You have to go to the doctor for medications, it must not be really serious because if she had full blown mono for years I think she would be dead. If you dont let it get better you can rupture your spleen. You also are supposed to rest your body and not do a lot of strenuous activities.

I have this vague memory of reading somewhere that Mono is a youth's disease. People can't get it after teens or early twenties. That's why they call it the kissing disease (those pesky teen hormones!), although you don't have to get it from kissing. If she's your mother, I'm guessing she's over that age group. I could very well be wrong--maybe I'm thinking of something else. But if I'm right, she may have been misdiagnosed. Look into it. Hope it all works out for her and she finally starts feeling better.

the real cure to mono is just to relax since mono is just a virus. if she doesn't get enough rest she could die from mono. tell your mom to take a deep breath and relax.
