It seems the higher IQ candidates leave too early after expensive training.

I think it is a good policy. unfortunately police work is 90% boredom with the rest paperwork. I do appreciate the work they do.

It was believed in Australia (talking 1972) that those with the best results in "aptitude tests" for some computer programming were refused Australian Government jobs.

(There was a grain of truth in the crazy logic. Only that the person with the best results in the world wouldn't necessarily work well or work at all.Just as a car built from the best engine, wheels, suspension etc mightn't run well or run at all.)

Seems a bit odd. Wouldn't most organisations pick the best people.

Seems peculiar for Police, who need investigative skills of a very high order.

So if it was true in Australia in 1972,
then it could be true somewhere today.

This is FALSE! Those officers with IQ's over 110 are patrol officers. If your IQ is lower then 110 they pull you off the street and put you in command staff.

This reminds me of another question posted a while back. The asker's question was the same and stated his IQ to be 125 and gave screen shot of his test results and a link for anyone to challenge it.

I took his challenge and posted my screen shot with an IQ of 126. I was trying to look the question up in my answers to send you, but evidently he removed the question. Guess he was not as dumb as I thought.

No it's not true. I do not remember who asked the original question. Was it you and you did not like the answer?

I've never heard of a police department testing the IQs of new officers. Is this your clever way of saying police are dumb? Not very witty, try again.

And I always thought you needed at least a 115 IQ to pass the detectives test.

The point of your question is to imply that police officers aren't intelligent. You could care less whether it's fair or not, or how accurate your source is.

That is true in some country's, It happens in a lot of work places, That doesn't mean they are stupid it means that they have a better understanding of the public and day to day situations.

If this is meant to be an insult towards the police....it doesn't strike me as very effective. I'm sure you can do better.
