All attempts have been unsuccessful, or it says I need to buy a disk.

I've tried the sites recommended and if I can locate software, it's not downloadable.

Try Umax.de, the German Umax site. It's in German, but it's pretty obvious how to navigate it. Go to the Support page.

I have an Astra 3400 which worked fine with Windows 98, but Umax left me high and dry when I went to XP. They had the nerve to ask me to pay for a new software disk. They should be roundly condemned for their crappy support.

I finally got it working, after a lot of work. You may need to also check on Driverguide.com to come for additional driver support.
