can't copy a file?

Question

I went into the properties in my d drive and can't find the recording tab. I have nero and roxio and neither one works to copy a file from my pc or burn a music cd

You want to copy a file to a CD - to use like a floppy?

You must use CD/RWs and they must be formatted with the software that powers your burner. You can then use the CD/RW like a floppy on your computer, but you cannot open the files on another computer without the "reader" -- a small downloadable program. For example, Nero has the "Easywrite Reader."

Re: burning - on my computer, in Start, Programs, Ahead Nero is listed. I open that to burn.

Your burner must have come with a printed User's Guide or a guide on the CD. Suggest you study it a bit.
