i'm going to hong kong soon and i'm planning on getting my 13 year old daughter a gift/souvenior. any suggestions?
she suggested ''morning glory stationary'' but just in case they don't really have it...what else do you think i could get her?

she's kind of a preppy girl. not totally. but somewhat.
umm. she likes a few korean/chinese singers, but she's not crazy about them so i don't really think she'd like posters of them. i guess you could say she's kinda girly, but doesn't wear make up.

For a preppy teenager, an MP3 or MP4 player seems to be a sure hit to me and these things are fairly cheap in HK. These match box sized gadgets stores hundreds of songs and music.
Otherwise, clothings and shoes would be the second choice. I have never yet met any girl or lady that has enough of either and both variaties and prices are excellent in HK.

You WILL find morning glory stationary. Really, her idea is good. The stationary for girls that you can find in Hong Kong (and other Asian countries) is really exceptional. I don't know if you are from the US. Here in the US, stationary is like Office Depot stuff. In HK, you will find not only morning glory, but many other lines as well. There will be cute note cards, little pencil, eraser, ruler, diaries, all sorts of things girly girls love.
Oh but just be warned you may have to elbow 13 y.o. girls out of your way as you shop.

There are trendy clothing products (including scarves, etc.) that are East meets West at Shanghai Tang in Central. They even had a New York shop at one point. They aren't cheap, but not outrageously expensive.

In Hong Kong, it has everything. I don't care how preppy someone is. He/she will always find something in Hong Kong!

there is so much "morning glory" type of shop everywhere, you can find Hellow kitty, all kind of cartoon easily. just pick the fancy clock, key chain and something for wallet and bags.
all kids love fancy color, such as pink. as long as it is cute, and you can also as the salesgirl too.

some jewelry, postcards(along with something else), an inexpensive but cool gadget that they dont have here yet. It really depends on what she is into.
