One type food that makes me feel relaxed and contented is, " chicken soup" I make a couple pieces of buttered toast and have a dish of canned pears. ....for some reason this kind of food always warms me on a cold winter night...and sticks to my ribs...and I can go right to sleep after eating it.
Many doctors tell people to eat "chicken soup" when they are sick. So they must know something. I don't buy the soup in a can I make it from scratch from the start.
All you need is celery, onion, carrots and parsley, chicken and cold water, salt and pepper and time for it to cook on simmer for a couple hours. it's best to make it the day before so it can have a much better taste the next day. Lighter food seems to sit well with me instead of something too rich.
Best wishes to you....Mama Jazzy Geri

Starchy foods have always done it for me. Mashed spuds, macaroni and cheese, fettucini alfredo, I have found, are some of the best foods to calm my nerves.
