not much. your considered a deserter after 30 days of unauthorized absences. ua is another way of saying awol

AWOL (Absent without leave) is an unauthorized absence.

Desertion is AWOL with intent to never return.

Desertion is when you go AWOL for more then 30 days,AWOL is any time before 30 days is up and you leave with out permission. don't do it its not worth it.good luck. oh and one more thing desertion in a time of war is punishable by death.

It all depends on who your family is. The President was absent from his duties in the military. Joe Bloe on the other hand deserted.

deserter has no intention to return. most AWOLS are just late but intend to go back.
